JOB TITLE: State Police Joint Operations Coordinator

FUNCTION OF WORK:

To lead or assist all State Police units in the development and integration of programs that interface with and/or have direct impact on the readiness of the Office of State Police.

LEVEL OF WORK:

Advanced Journeyman-complex.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

General from a State Police Captain or higher level State Police personnel.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

Project basis or direct over commissioned and/or civilian State Police employees.

LOCATION OF WORK:

Department of Public Safety and Corrections; Office of State Police.

JOB DISTINCTIONS:

Differs from other State Police jobs by specialization in the field of Joint Operations & Joint Coordination.

Differs from Operations and Strategic Planning with the responsibility of bridging programs that span these two operational levels.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:

Develops and establishes a Joint Administrative Program that interfaces with and links the offices of Operational and Strategic Development; primary emphasis on program continuity and unity of effort.

Establish liaison with other OSP units/sections to assist in the coordination and integration of new or on-going programs.

Provides advice where applicable, on availability of resources crucial to program objectives.

Establish a media or program tool that will provide the Superintendent/Deputy Superintendents with real-time awareness of issues relating to milestones/budget, etc., of high value, time sensitive programs.

Coordinate development of computerized routines designed to extract selected data from a variety of sources into a useful set of information to be used as a basis for porducing meaningful information reports.

Identify relevant law enforcement related technologies viable for implementation within OSP.

Provide other joint duties and functions as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Ten years experience with the Office of State Police or a Baccalaureate Degree, plus five years of experience as a State Trooper.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be a graduate of the State Police Training Academy and be P.O.S.T. certified. Must continue throughout appointment to meet the State Police and P.O.S.T. requirements for re-certification.
